Plastic Soup blog - Jesse Goossens
Dutch author, Jesse Goossens chronicles her research and her campaign about the global marine plastic pollution problem. Goossens created this chronicle during her research in the United States and Europe. The blog includes commentaries and interviews with people who are knowledgeable about the problem, and who offer their perspectives and approaches to finding a solution to the problem. The blog was originally published in Dutch and almost simultaneously translated into English to provide a global audience with access to this information.

Plastic Soup book - Jesse Goossens
At the same time as Dutch author, Jesse Goossens, was researching the plastic pollution problem and writing her blog (described above), she was busy creating a book about the issue titled "Plastic Soup." Goossens traveled to the United States to get an idea about the scope of the plastic pollution problem, and to try and find a global solution. Alongside the blogs, she includes interviews with people who are working on the problem ... from Captain Charles Moore—discoverer of the soup—to representatives of the plastics industry, from environmental organizations to recyclers, and from the Dutch Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment—Jacqueline Cramer—to the Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in New York.
