Algalita volunteer opportunities
At the present time, we have no volunteer opportunities and are not accepting applications.
Speakers Bureau – participants and organizer
Outreach – participants and organizer (tabling at events, etc.)
Lab – Participants and Organizer
Translation – volunteers are needed to translate outreach and educational materials, blog posts, etc.
Science Writer – skilled journalist with science background who can keep information about our research up to date
Literature Reviewer – someone with solid science background that could keep us up to date on relevant publications and summarize new findings for reference
Event Planner – someone who would like to sort out the details of throwing parties, i.e. Bon voyage parties, volunteer appreciation functions, etc.
Media volunteer – someone familiar with developing press packets, etc.
Citizen Scientists – Individuals that would like to coordinate research efforts through Plastics Are Forever model, etc.
Volunteer Data Entry – add all existing volunteers to database then update database with new volunteers and send welcome message. Also keep track of volunteer hours and participation.
Volunteer Historian – volunteer to produce written accounts of volunteer activities and achievements for website, newsletter and records
Volunteer Support – volunteer to oversee volunteer recognition, i.e. plan annual awards, events, contact volunteers to thank them for participation, outreach to new volunteers, etc.
